Working patterns of full-time and part-time employees
Calendar year Q2 2025

Data presented in this publication is based on analysis of the Office for National Statistics (ONS) Labour Force Survey (LFS) for Quarter 2 2025 (interviews taking place from April to June 2025).

The data provides estimates of the number and percentage of employees in the UK aged 16-64 with a work pattern that is weekday only or includes weekends. This is broken down by full-time and part-time employees.

For headline data comparisons, the five mutually exclusive categories for working patterns have been collapsed into two broader groups as follows:

- Weekday only - Monday-Friday only, one-four weekdays only
- Includes weekends - Monday-Friday plus weekend, one-four weekdays plus weekend, weekend only

2. Weighted numbers of respondents are estimated population counts for employees based on a sample with a valid response regarding their usual working days. Figures may not sum to UK employment totals as analysis and sample exclude those without valid working pattern information.
3. Analysis describes usual working days rather than contractual requirements.
